Athletics Coach Education

Coach / Official Education and Development
Through consultation with clubs, coaches and teachers, and scottishathletics we run a comprehensive Coach Education programme for athletics within the region. This looks to address everyone’s needs and will include running CPD courses for teachers and UKCC courses for coaches and teachers. We will look to provide courses including:

• UKCC Level 1
• UKCC Level 2
• Certificate in Teaching Primary Athletics
• Certificate in Teaching Secondary Athletics
• Elevating Athletics workshops

We can also put on event-specific workshops on request and we will look to provide further learning opportunities through the programmes run by our Club/Coach Development Manager, click here for more information.

Coach Scholarships are available to assist with the costs of coach education for coaches operating at Level 2 and above. For further information please click here.

UKCC Level 1 Coaching Comes to Tayside & Fife

The first UKCC Level 1 coaching course for athletics began recently at the Saltire Leisure Centre in Arbroath. The UKCC Level 1 is a two and a half day course, with day one taking place on 2nd May and day two on 30th May. The final half day, the coaching assessment will take place on Saturday 29th August. Certificate in Teaching Secondary Athletics

On Friday 22nd March a group of 13 teachers form Dundee and Perth & Kinross gathered at St John’s High School for the Certificate in Teaching Secondary Athletics course. The course works alongside the Elevating Athletics resource pack which was supplied to every school in the UK in 2008.
