To strengthen the infrastructure of sport in Tayside & Fife, to bring sustainable increases in participation and performance for our developing athletes.
Dundee Football Development Officer, Kevin Lee, was delighted to present representatives of Broughty United FC and Craigiebarns FC with new team packs for the two girls and one boys team that the clubs will create as a result of the SFA McDonald’s Programme.
Both clubs, Dundee City Council Sports Development Section and SportTayside & Fife have worked closely together to ensure that the McDonald’s programme will become sustainable for the following years by linking newly created school teams into local established SFA Quality Mark Clubs.
The clubs will support the sustainability of the programme by providing links to organised football, whilst supporting the continuation of the schools games programme when the McDonalds programme moves to another Dundee cluster next year.
As a result of this excellent Partnership working, Dundee and SportTayside & Fife have secured a funding of £1,700 to support the development of the three new teams. The funding will help to finance facilities and equipment required for the year ahead.
