Working together for sport.

New support resources have been developed for schools who are starting to deliver hockey and those supporting schools to introduce hockey to pupils:
• The Primary School Info Pack covers all aspects of Primary School hockey from buying equipment to organising a festival.
• The School-club Link Guide is a simple guide to the important aspects of developing a quality school-club link.
• Playground Hockey is a series of games cards for introductory hockey skills, designed to be used by teachers and pupils alike.
Glasgow School of Sport has created a series of podcasts for players and coaches to share the experiences of the school. Some are generic and others are hockey specific. They can be accessed at:

Please note that since this video was made, the 5 metre rule has been clarified by FIH. When taking a free hit within the 23 metre area, the ball must either travel 5 metres before being played into the circle or be touched by another player before entering the circle. The ball does not have to travel 5 metres from the start point, i.e. it can travel 2.5 metres in one direction and 2.5 metres back."
