The 2010 Dundee Sports Awards took place in February and was a very successful night for Menzieshill Whitehall Swimming and Water Polo Club. The Club, who won Dundee Club of the Year in 2009, had 3 shortlisted candidates and 2 winners.

Please be advised that a review of the process for applying for a coach pass for National Events is currently under way.
Should you intend to apply for a pass to use at the three Scottish National Meets (Short Course, Age Groups, National Champs), please take the opportunity now to check that you have a valid enhanced disclosure valid until August 2011. Coaches are reminded that the disclosure certificate must be processed via your club through Scottish Swimming. Disclosure Certificates obtained by external employers are not valid in this respect.

Clubs that are well managed and represent their local community tend to be successful and sustainable. They have well ordered finances; volunteers and members are kept informed with good communication and if the day to day running of the club is dealt with efficiently, strong links can be formed with external partners such as sports development and local schools. The Scottish Governing Body Swimmark programme will assist Clubs with their development and planning for the future. It is hoped that clubs can be encouraged to sign up to this programme and with assistance being provided at a local and regional level to support them through this process.
With the appointment of the new Volunteer Development Officer at Scottish
Swimming, we will be working closely with Clubs to identify what they need
volunteers for and how we can target various organisations to attract volunteers
into swimming.
